May 26th Update

We are entering week #10. Please read over these reminders and let us know if you have any questions.

2. Mrs. Smith is offering small group math sessions on Wednesday and Friday from 11:00-12:00 for students who would like some extra help on the concept(s) of the week. Please sign up by 5PM the night before (Tuesday/Thursday) so she can send the zoom invite to those who sign up. 3. This is week #5 of new science and math material. Videos showing notes and activities will be posted on YouTube channels and then students will be asked to complete an activity on their own.
 
4. We are using our Tuesday zooms to give out announcements, play team building games, answer questions, and go over work for the week.  Please try to stay the whole time. We have many visitors sharing information such as Mrs. Story and Mrs. Mainwaring. THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO ATTEND!!!!!!!!
 
5. Mrs. Story will be joining our zoom tomorrow to go this weeks plans for the state project! The state project is DUE FRIDAY, MAY 29. This is THIS FRIDAY!!!
 
6. Safety Patrol belts - Please take off your pin (you can keep it), wash your belt in the washing machine like normal, then HANG DRY it - no dryer. Put it in a safe place so you can eventually give it back to Ms. Trost. 
 
7. No school today, Monday, May 25 due to Memorial day. There are lessons with work that will need to be completed Tuesday, May 26 - Friday, May 29. We will still continue to have 4 days of work this week. 
 
8. Make sure you check out Mrs. Smith's new book reading of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.

 Melvi, who is an astronaut and author, will talk about space travel, why it is important, and chasing your dreams. You can sign up for the class which is free! There are 2 half hour sessions on May 12 and 19. I hope lots off families sign up.

May 4th Update

It is week 7. We still can't believe it. Below are this weeks updates. Please let us know if you have any questions.

2. This week science and math are NEW material. Videos showing notes and activities will be posted on YouTube channels and then students will be asked to complete an activity on their own.

That is the link that will tell you what the program is and the application that you will need to fill out and send back. We have some amazing scientists in our midst's and would strongly encourage students who LOVE science, and can move at a faster pace, to apply!! I've heard really amazing things about the program. Please look at the unit synopsis to see what it is laid out. The application is DUE TODAY!!!!!!!

7. Mrs. Story will be joining our zoom tomorrow to go over how she wants you to complete your state project that you started in library. Please make sure you come to hear instructions as well as they have been added onto planbook.

April 20, 2020 Update:

Good morning parents and students -

We just wanted to send out our weekly update for this week. 

1. Thank you for all your hard work thus far. We appreciate it more than you know and are so proud of your continued commitment to your education.

2. ANY MISSING WORK or RETAKES need to be in by THIS Friday, April 24 at 3pm. We will not take any missing work past that point from quarter 3.

3. Any work missing work or retakes that have been turned in are updated in the gradebook as of this afternoon. 

4. Check planbook for this weeks assignments.

5. Tuesdays will be our very strongly, highly encouraged zoom. From 11:00-11:30, we want to go over all announcements, play a game, and answer questions. From 11:30-12, Mrs. Mainwaring will be coming on to talk to do a mini lesson with the kids and to help with the social/emotional stress of this quarantine. 

6. Thursday zoom will still be available if you have other questions or need help from 11:00-12:00. 

7. Be on the lookout for refunds on field trip fees or strings concerts. Our bookkeeper asked that you cash the check ASAP to help with closing out our books for the school year.

8. To show our volunteers appreciation for all they did this year, please have your student create a mini poster on a piece of lined paper or computer paper showing their thanks. Email your pictures to your students homeroom teacher by Wednesday at 3pm. We will send those off to Mrs. Forgas and she will be creating something special for our volunteers. 

9. Keep up the good work. We love you and support you from afar!

To download Office 365 on home devices, students can log in with their user name and password. Their user name will be a complete student email address Which ends in @pwcs-edu.org
Once on the Office 365 home screen, select Install Office from the upper right. A drop down box appears. Choose the down arrow for Office 365 apps.
Then follow the prompts from the next Windows to run the install commands.
